On page 119, I was so surprised that Montag killed Beatty with the flame thrower. I knew he was thinking about it because Beatty made Montag really mad, but I didn't think he would actually go through with it. Beatty was a really mean man, even if he was doing his job. Beatty didn't have to lead Montag on and just drag on what he already knew. Beatty knew Montag was hiding the books before the alarm even went off. Beatty should have just confronted Montag from the beginning and maybe even gave him a warning since they were friends and worked together. Now Montag is out of a house, wife, job and a friend.
