Journal Entry #6

During this part of the book the fire alarm goes off and the fire men go rushing to an old house with books in the attic. At this point a book fell into Montag's hand and he held it and put it under his arm. While they were gathering the books and putting kerosene on them there is a woman who refuses to leave. She is standing by the books and wont move a bit. Montag tries to persuade her to get out of the house but she wouldn't listen. She said that they could never have her books. The fire fighters boss, Beatty said that he was going to count to ten and then hes lighting it and its burning down. The lady still didn't care and she stood with her books. Once Montag got out of the house the lady lit a match herself and the fumes bloomed up around her on page 40. That lady was serious about her books. She didn't let anyone move her and she stood up for herself. I think she was a little psycho because that is crazy!
