I think Faber is a really good friend to Montag. Faber is there for him when Montag needed help the most. Without Faber I don't think Montag would have got away from the mechanical hound. Faber helped Montag by telling him to go toward the river, filling up the suitcase with dirty clothes and socks to get rid of the scent and sealing the cardbord valise with clear tape. (pg.136) Faber could have got himself in trouble but he was looking out for Montag and helping him from getting arrested or killed. Faber seems like a great friend to have.
